Traveling itself can cause a few butterflies in your stomach; add to that the experience of surgery and it's completely normal to feel a little nervous about your trip.
Rest assured that you are in safe hands when you book with Well Off Grace. We have been coordinating plastic surgery vacations and operations for a long time and are highly experienced in working with surgeons, hospitals and hotels where you will be well looked after.
We also know that the more you know about the process, the more relaxed you will feel. That's why we've outlined here step by step what usually happens when you book with Well Off Grace.
1-Deciding on Operation
The first step in this exciting journey is to choose your procedure. You may have an idea of which surgery you want. Or you may have a few questions about the differences between certain procedures.
Our health counsellors are available to answer any questions you have, no matter what stage of the decision-making process you are at.
2-Receiving Bids
Once you have decided which procedure(s) you want, we ask you to fill in your medical booking form. This allows us to give you a quote for your procedure and start checking availability and dates.
In this step, we ask you to send us your photos so that we can provide the surgeons with all the relevant information. With the information you provide in this step, our surgeons confirm the procedures to be completed and prepare a quote for the costs of surgery and hospital care. The photos you provide here are for the surgeon's use only and are transferred securely, ensuring that your privacy is protected at all times. Please refer to the instructions provided for taking photographs.
We ask that you contact us to receive a free initial estimate of how much a procedure will usually cost, or you can refer to our Procedure pages where estimated costs are provided.
It might be a good idea to start looking at your flights while you wait for your quote to arrive.
3-Confirm Your Reservation and Confirm Your Flights
Once you are satisfied with the offer, the location and the date of your plastic surgery vacation, we will confirm your booking and of course, if you have questions, we are just a phone call or email away.
The time is right for you to confirm your flights. Please note, Well Off Grace does not book flights on behalf of its clients but we can answer the most frequently asked questions about flying to Turkey. Just make sure to inform your airline/travel agent/travel insurance provider that you are traveling for plastic surgery.
4-Airport Landing
At the airport at your destination - Istanbul or Sabiha Gökçen - you will be met by a driver who will take you to your hotel and an interpreter.
They will be able to help you settle in, help you decide where to explore, eat, drink and shop, and also talk about cultural customs and traditions you need to know. They will also explain your procedure for you and take you to see your surgeon, the first meeting with the surgeon is usually scheduled the day after you land.
The Well Off Grace Care Package you receive before you leave the hospital includes your primary needs for post-operative care, such as medications, lotions, etc., as well as a travel guide to Istanbul and a gift from the Well Off Grace family.
5-Hospital Pre-Admission and Payment
Shortly after you land in Turkey, your medical advisor will take you to the hospital to meet your surgeon. This usually happens the day after you land. On the day of your surgery, you will learn more about what to expect in your post-operative care and will be given ample opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
You will usually pay directly after your consultation, before you are admitted to the hospital. Our hospitals usually accept cash or prepaid international money transfer.
6-Discharge from Hospital
When your surgeon discharges you, we will take you back to your hotel and your health advisor will help you settle into your room. You will be given your prescription medication and a number you can call 24/7.
After your procedure, you will have follow-up appointments with your surgeon to make sure you are recovering. Your surgeon will advise you on what you can do to speed up your recovery and other creams or medicines will be prescribed if necessary.
7-Postoperative Care
It is important to ensure adequate rest and recovery during the first few days after surgery. Clients often use this time to relax, read, sit by the pool or take light walks, making the most of the time away from the usual demands of work and home life. Often we have other patients staying and recovering in the same hotel, so you can make new friends and share your experiences if you wish.
Staff and other visitors in hotels are very used to having clients around who have had plastic surgery, so there is absolutely no need to hide in your room while you recover. As always, if you need anything, your Well Off Grace coordinator is just a phone call away.
8-Returning Home
Your surgeon may ask to see you several times to see how your recovery is progressing and then you will have a final consultation.
On your return day, approximately 3 hours before your flight departure time, you will be transferred by our driver from your hotel to the airport.
Your support from us will continue when you return to your country. We will contact you when you return home to check on you and answer any questions you may have. We will also forward any questions you may have for your surgeon and ensure that they are answered and forwarded to you.
